 Physician Services
Sick-Child Visits
These visits are provided to address a specific problem that
is either acute or chronic in nature. The physician will take
a history of the illness, perform a physical examination, order
laboratory or Radiological tests as indicated, and prescribe
a course of action.
Consultation Visits
These visits
are provided to address a more comprehensive problem such as
school failure, concerns over depression or possible
eating disorders for example. Such appointments require extra
time and the physician and family may desire the child to be
present (or not). Check with your child's physician to inquire
how we may best serve you in such an instance.
Well-Child Visits
The physicians at Fort Worth Pediatrics adhere to the American
Academy of Pediatrics recommendations for well-child care. At
each visit, the physician will go over your child's general health,
growth, and development with particular emphasis on the parents'
concerns. The physician will also give anticipatory guidance
for your child's next developmental period. Your child's vision
and hearing are tested as they reach an appropriate age and several
other screening tests are offered such as lead screening, testing
for iron deficiency, cholesterol screening, blood pressure monitoring,
and perhaps screening lab work. Many parents bring a list of
questions to such visits.
All the physicians at Fort Worth Pediatrics also believe that
full and proper immunization of children is a fundamental part
of their continued health. Although the recommendations for particular
vaccines are constantly in flux, Fort Worth Pediatrics updates
its procedures frequently to insure that your child is as fully
protected as possible from preventable diseases. Ask your physician
if you have particular concerns about immunization.
